KooeeKeis Australian Cobberdogs are ethical Australian Cobberdog breeders in Western Australia (WA), dedicated to raising calm, family-focused dogs with sound genetics and temperament.  We are nestled a beautiful location in the  Wheatbelt of Western Australia (WA) where wide skies and golden paddocks stretch as far as the eye can see. It’s here that Keith and Isi Cameron pour their hearts into raising happy, healthy, and deeply loved Australian Cobberdogs. Long before Cobberdogs became part of their lives, Keith and Isi were already well known for their dedication to excellence, care, and integrity through their previous success breeding black Huacaya alpacas — an achievement that earned national and international recognition.

For years, the pair ran a thriving alpaca enterprise built on a shared vision: to breed for quality, not quantity, offering extensive health testing and to always stand proudly behind their name.

Under the stud name “KEIS” (a blend of Keith & Isi), they made the bold decision to specialise exclusively in black fleece — a rare and difficult colour to perfect. Their patience, eye for genetics, and attention to every tiny detail paid off spectacularly. Their alpacas consistently produced world-class fleece and KEIS Stud proudly took out the coveted Supreme Black Huacaya Fleece awards both nationally and internationally.

Eventually, life shifted. After years of farming success, the Cameron’s sold their property and the associated alpaca businesses, ready to close that wonderful chapter and explore what might come next for their ever-curious, always-active minds.

It wasn’t long before inspiration struck. One evening, an Australian TV news presenter casually mentioned they had just purchased an Australian Cobberdog. “Hmm… never heard of them,” thought Isi. That off-hand comment sparked the next big adventure. Keith and Isi spent countless evenings reading everything they could find on the breed — its origins, purpose, and values. The more they learned, the more it felt like fate. The Cobberdog’s temperament, intelligence, and gentle soul seemed to align perfectly with the Cameron’s’ lifelong passion for ethical breeding and nurturing animals with purpose and love.

And just like that, KooeeKeis Australian Cobberdogs was born — a new name for a new journey, but carrying forward all the same values that had guided them for decades: integrity, care, genetics, and heart now applying our methods to our dogs.

At KooeeKeis, we are a small, home-based breeder — and proud of it. We’re not a kennel and never will be. Our dogs are not “stock”; they are family. Each one lives as a beloved companion either in our home or in carefully chosen Guardian Families who adore and nurture them as their own. We don’t use outdoor kennels or rows of runs. We share our couches, our gardens, and our daily lives with our dogs, and that genuine family environment shines through in every puppy we raise.

Our aim is simple yet deeply personal: to raise healthy, well-adjusted, and therapy-ready Australian Cobberdogs who are matched to the right families and prepared for a lifetime of love. Whether a puppy is destined to become a loyal family companion, a calm therapy partner, or an assistance dog, every KooeeKeis puppy receives the same foundation — early neurological and social stimulation, crate and chew-toy training, first groom and clip, and plenty of cuddles.  All our dogs are bred in line with standards set by recognised organisations such as the Master Dog Breeders & Associates (MDBA).  We do everything possible to set them up for success before they leave our arms and go to yours.  Learn more about our comprehensive health and genetic testing program.
