KooeeKeis Australian Cobberdogs ~ Ethical Family Breeder in WA

Hypoallergenic, what is that?

Cobberdog Coats - hypoallergenic and so much more

One of the most magical things about the Australian Cobberdog is their coat. It’s not just beautiful to look at and soft to touch – it’s also one of the features that makes this breed so special and sets different Cobberdog lines apart.

At KooeeKeis, all of our dogs have fleece coats – either straight or wavy – and both are low to non-shedding. While each type has its own little quirks and appearance, the wonderful thing is that they’re all allergy-friendly, easy to live with, and just gorgeous.

No matter which coat type your Cobberdog has, they all share the same signature Cobberdog traits: gentle nature, clever minds, intuitive personalities, and a deep, loving bond with their humans.

Fleece Coats

The fleece coat is silky, soft, and has a light, airy feel. Think of angora goat fibre – fine, shiny, and beautifully reflective. These coats grow in soft waves and swirls, falling in clusters that shimmer as they move.

Fleece coats shed very little, which means they’re generally free from doggy odour and kind to allergy sufferers. Another bonus? Dirt tends to fall straight out of the coat, keeping them naturally cleaner.

To keep this coat looking its best, regular grooming is a must. Clipping every 6–8 weeks helps prevent tangles and matting, while a little brushing in between keeps them soft and flowing.

Wavy Fleece Coats

Wavy fleece coats are just as special. They have the same allergy-friendly qualities and are also low to non-shedding. The coat falls in long, loose spirals, giving a soft, flowing look. With hardly any dander, there’s no doggy smell, making them perfect companions for allergy-sensitive homes.

Wavy fleece is very similar in appearance to the straight fleece – in fact, it can be hard to tell them apart! The main difference is that wavy fleece may need a touch more grooming to keep it free of tangles and matting. Just like straight fleece, a regular clip every 6–8 weeks is recommended.

Cobberdog Coat Colours

Cobberdogs come in a rainbow of stunning colours, each one unique and beautiful.

Solid Colours: raven, chocolate, red, caramel, chalk, and caramel ice.
Shaded Colours: black, blue, blue merle, silver, gold, apricot cream, caramel cream, café, lavender, parchment, and chocolate merle.

Over time, it’s completely normal for coats to change slightly – sun can lighten them, and natural ageing can also bring gentle fading. But no matter the shade, every Cobberdog coat is full of character and charm.
